Seed. Grow. Multiply.

Throughout 2025, Love INC will have opportunities to be faithful in all these stages and to celebrate God’s faithfulness in each of these stages for our neighbors, our churches, our programs, etc.

On October 22, 2025, the annual Hillsboro Prayer Breakfast was held. The breakfast is held in cooperation with local churches, service clubs, and businesses to provide spiritual encouragement and moral support to our civic, private, and spiritual leaders.

The room was packed with about 235 people. Love INC was represented by seven people, which included Jolene Snow, Robin Smith, Bev Maunu, a board member and several other volunteers

On October 18, Lutheran Women in Mission held a zone gathering at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. Love INC Executive Director Jolene Snow was invited to share about Love INC at the event.

The women attending the event brought a cartful of donations for Love INC!

On August 26, Love INC of Greater Hillsboro hosted a Church Community Conversation. The goal of this event was to provide church leadership a safe space to learn about houselessness and mental health to consider how to best serve unhoused neighbors at their doors.

Fifteen leaders from 14 partner and non-partner local churches, along with six Love INC staff, board members and volunteers gathered to engage in dialogue. Knowledgeable guest speakers from four local organizations/ministries were also in attendance – Kim from Project Homeless Connect Washington County, Christina from National Alliance on Mental Illness Washngton County (NAMI), Cynthia and Adam from Salvation Army Portland Metro and Marcia from Sequoia Mental Health Services, Inc.

Huge thanks to Hillsboro United Methodist Church for providing a welcoming space for this important gathering!

On April 11, Project Homeless Connect held a one-day event which was rescheduled from February due to weather. There were 50 agencies represented that day. Love INC staff and volunteers were available to provide information to 120 neighbors in need who visited the Love INC table. In addition to information, underwear and socks collected during the HUGS campaign, were distributed. The hats and gloves collected during that campaign were distributed during the colder months of winter. Call Center Coordinator Robin Smith made the rounds to visit each of the other agencies represented to connect with them on how to work together in serving Greater Hillsboro.

April 7, God answered our prayers regarding opening another day of the week! We are now open Mondays, answering calls from noon until 2:30 p.m. The first Monday, there were eight calls into the call center from neighbors, and 10 on our second Monday open. On both days, volunteers also made calls to follow up with neighbors to gather more information and to schedule Gap Ministry connections. We’ve been so busy during these Mondays, we haven’t yet had an opportunity to take any pictures!

While we were able to open, we need additional volunteers for Monday. If you’re interested in volunteering on Monday, know someone who might be interested, or would like to know about other volunteer opportunities, please check out our Volunteer Opportunities.

God blessed us when new (to us) office furniture was donated to Love INC. You prayed with us as we planned a design layout that would enhance the work done in the office. As of January, we have a new look!

We’re praying God will connect us with a group that can use our previous furniture. Get details here.

In 2025, God provided two new staff members.

Love INC’s National Gathering, Intersections of Grace, took place in Gurnee, Illinois, September 23-25, 2025. Our staff — Jolene Snow, Robin Smith and Jilena Castillo — attended the conference. At the Gathering, they explored how God’s grace shows up at intersections of life — through the cross, our calling, everyday encounters, and in life’s challenges. Turning to Scripture, reflection, and testimony they discovered how Christ meets us where we are, invites us into deeper relationship, and calls us to be present in the lives of others right where our paths meet. These moments are where the Church shines brightest: leaning in, walking alongside, and reflecting the love of Christ in tangible ways.

On May 1, Love INC National Executive Director, Kirk Vander Molen, hosted Converge for Oregon and SW Washington. Love INC of Greater Hillsboro, along with seven other affiliates (including one newly opened and one opening next month) came together to share ideas and encourage each other. Love INC of Greater Hillsboro was represented by staff, board members and volunteers (listed below). As each affiliate shared, we were encouraged as we were reminded how faithful God has been in multiplying our work in Hillsboro. We were able to share with the group some of the ways in which God has been faithful to lead Love INC of Greater Hillsboro to Seed. Grow. Multiply.
