2026 Word for the Year

THANKFUL

Every year at Love INC we seek a word of the year to help motivate, inspire, and focus on what God specifically wants to do through Love INC that year. The word of the year for 2026 is Thankful. As Love INC celebrates 15 years of ministry, we are thankful for God’s direction, provision, and blessings.

Biblical thankfulness is a deep, heart-felt recognition of who God is – good, faithful, loving – and what He has done – as creator, provider, savior.

We express how thankful we are through praise, confession, and joy in all circumstances, recognizing Him as the source of every blessing. It’s not about ignoring the trials or pain, but acknowledging God’s presence and purpose within the suffering.

Being thankful leads to worship, trust, and a transformed perspective focused on Christ’s grace. It’s a continuous practice, not just a feeling, that glorifies God and recognizes salvation as the ultimate gift.

August

On August 23, Executive Director Jolene Snow had an opportunity to visit two Partner Churches.

In the morning, Jolene delivered the “Donut Hole in One” reward from our golf event to Trinity Lutheran Church.

In the evening, at the Prayer Event held by Hillsboro First Baptist Church, Jolene had an opportunity to share about Love INC.

Our Restoring Hope 10 year Anniversary Reunion BBQ was August 8. Individuals who participated in class, provided a meal, facilitated a class or worked with children, came together to celebrate what God has done through Restoring Hope! Some family members also joined the celebration.

There were games, food, fellowship, and lots of remembering what Restoring Hope meant to each one.

In the Remembering a Decade Memory Box, one individual shared, “I use the skills and knowledge  to better my life. I also learned that my voice is worthy to be heard through the classes because I had to share in class! Thank you for my voice.”

Vicki Conn, Developing New Affiliates Specialist, came by for a productive day of collaboration and inspiring conversations. We were delighted to have her join our weekly Volunteer Vote where this week’s showdown was between Iced Coffee and Iced Tea. Needless to say, coffee lovers won this round!

Redemptive Compassion© was the topic in July.

Staff, board members, and volunteers came together and were encouraged by the great discussion.

On July 29, the team at Love INC of Clackamas County welcomed eight Love INC affiliates to Compassion with Redemptive Power, led by Lois Tupyi who authored this book as well as the original Redemptive Compassion. Our staff, along with board members, and volunteers were among the 80 people who attended.
